This contribution allows you to add an unlimited number of additional images to each product in an oscommerce based shop. It allows you to upload and add to each image 3 sizes. You may create each yourself for maximum flexibility or start by uploading one large image and have this contribution automatically fill in the smaller two sizes. The smallest size is displayed on the product list pages. The medium size image is displayed on the Product Info page. The large image is reserved for the popup.
Image thumbnailing is supported with JPEG, PNG-8bit, PNG-24bit, and GIF image types. Transparency is supported with the PNG and GIF formats. PHP GD 2.0 and PHP 4.3.2 and better are required for processing images. You may use this contribution without the image processing if your host does not meet the requirements.
You may have a thumbnail image menu on the Product page and the popup. This can be configured to be displayed in a column, a row, a group of either columns or rows, and displayed on top, bottom, or either side of the currently shown large image. The popup also samples the images prior to displaying itself so that it sizes itself to the largest image. This prevents the unsightly box resizing when each new image is selected for viewing.
Along with each image you may also define the caption that accompanies the images. The captions are displayed everywhere the image is displayed such as on the Product Info page and the popup images and menu.
This contribution will also manage the images on your server. Every image uploaded or created using the GD functions are entered in the database so that if the product or product image is removed from the database, the image on the server will also be removed. It will first look at all other image definitions before deleting to ensure it is not used elsewhere.
In addition, the image management will allow you to specify the upload location of your images. If you prefer, you can let this contribution suggest a location to place the images for each product based on the category the product is placed in.
